Concept: The 2018 World Junior Hockey Championship Outdoor Game

Buffalo was recently announced as the host city of the 2018 WJHC, and one of the games will be a match-up that is yet to be determined, at Ralph Wilson Stadium, home of the Buffalo Bills.

It is assumed by most, that it will be a match-up between Canada and the USA on New Year's Eve, a game that most people circle on their calendar when the tournament is staged in North America. I decided to turn this into a project, with a logo for the game, as well as jerseys and merchandise. The uniforms pay homage to the 1982 World Junior's which were the first on American soil, as they were based in Minnesota. It was Canada's first win at the WJHC, while the USA had a disappointing showing. There's no footage or photographs of the USA turn out, but based on news articles from around the event, I am basing it on the fact the USA squad wore the uniforms worn by the "Miracle on Ice" squad. Canada however, as shown below, has archival photos due to the victory.
